About fáilte2.0

Clockwise from top-left: Onstage at Roadburren Fleadh, the lads packed into Community Skratch Games, a gamer browses at The R.A.G.E., The Model Arts Centre in Sligo.

fáilte 2.0 is a showcase of alternative & cultural destinations, events and festivals on the island of Ireland.

WHO WE ARE: A group of students in the MA New Media with Journalism programme at Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland: Derek Hopper edited and developed the site in May of 2017, while Mike McGrath-Bryan contributed material and content management. Contributors of material: Manuela Dei Grandi, Michael Dorgan. All embedded media on this website is property of its copyright owners.

WHAT WE DO: Designed for the discerning tourist, or the new arrival to Irish culture looking for a way into its more compelling locales and circles, fáilte 2.0 exists to let the world know about the country’s hidden gems; places that we think deserve the world’s attention.

WHERE WE’RE FROM: Mostly Irish by origin, bar our Italian friend Manuela, the team is distributed across Ireland and Thailand, operating from HQ and delivering content drawn from our own loves and experiences.

WHY WE’RE DOING THIS: Sharing the experiences, interactions, sights, sounds and relationships that the Ireland of its young, switched-on, culturally discerning people denizens has to offer.
